Mascara Review
Happy Tuesday friends! I hope you enjoyed your long Memorial Day weekend! Here in MA it was a beautiful, sunny weekend - finally!
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw my mascara review that I posted over the past couple weeks! I tried posting in consecutive days, but honestly there were just a few days that I didn't feel like putting on makeup. Quarantine is doing weird things to me!
Personally, I love long, voluminous lashes. I've gone back and forth between mascara and extensions, so anything that will give me that full extension look, sign me up. I ordered travel sized mascaras from Ulta to try out - I chose ones that I saw other bloggers raving about, or that had great reviews on Ulta. Let's get to it!
Lights, Camera, Lashes + Maneater

The first review I did was a combo that I've seen one of my favorite bloggers, Hollie Woodward, talk about since I first started following her! It's Lights, Camera, Lashes + Maneater, both by Tarte. I have to say, I'm super impressed with this combination. I did one coat of each mascara and it made my lashes really long and thick. Lights, Camera, Lashes made them nice and thick, and Maneater separated them really well.
I've used Tarte mascaras before, and they usually don't disappoint. They are considered a 'prestige' brand, so they are $23 each. I honestly think they are worth the price! You'll only need a coat or two of each, so they'll last a really long time.
Overall, I would rate this an 8/10! It didn't go on clumpy at all and gave me the results I was hoping for.
BADgal BANG!

Second on my list of mascaras to review was BADgal BANG! by Benefit. I'm a fan of Benefit mascaras, specifically They're Real - it provides tons of volume. Alexa Anglin, another blogger I'm a huge fan of, swears by BADgal BANG! so I wanted to give it a shot.
The bristles on this brush were tiny, so I figured it would provide a ton of separation of my lashes, which it didn't really. I don't have much of an issue with that because I love lots of volume, but that's something you might want to be aware of if that isn't what you're looking for.
First impression - this goes on very clumpy. I had to really work to get the clumps out. Other than that, I really liked the outcome of this mascara! They were long and thick, which is exactly what I wanted. I would give this a 7/10, just because of the initial clumpiness.
Perversion

Next up to review was Perversion by Urban Decay. I usually love all things Urban Decay, so I was really excited, but unfortunately pretty disappointed with the outcome of this mascara. This is just my opinion because it gave my lashes a lot of separation, but but barely any volume or length.
This picture was taken after 2 coats of Perversion, which is what I also did with all of the other mascaras so we could really see the results in comparison with one another.
If you aren't looking for a dramatic lash, then this could totally work for you! It just didn't do what I was hoping for it to do. I want to try it again with mascara primer to see if that would possibly make a difference. I'm giving this a 4/10 because it didn't give me volume or length.
Monsieur Big

My tried and true favorite didn't fail me during this review! My sister introduced me to this mascara and it's AMAZING. I wanted to see if anything could beat it, but after testing other products I don't think anything did.
Monsieur Big is by Lancome, and the first of their mascaras that I've tried. It gives me so much volume, length, and separation. This picture is after only 2 coats!
I've been using this mascara for awhile and it truly never goes on clumpy, and although the tube is $25, it lasts for a really long time. Wearing this with primer makes your lashes look even better! Trust me, you won't be disappointed if you buy this.
I give this mascara a 9/10! Just because I don't want to give it a perfect score hahaha.
After trying all of these mascaras, my ranking is:
First place: Monsieur Big by Lancome
Second Place: Lights, Camera, Lashes + Maneater combo by Tarte
Third Place: BADgal BANG! by Benefit
Fourth Place: Perversion by Urban Decay
Let me know if you try any of these mascaras - I would love to hear what you think! I would also love to hear if there are any others you know and love, I'm always up for trying new products!
